Discover

A CoraZazen villa is the perfect base to discover the versatile aspects of Andalusia where gastronomy - impressive nature – activities – culture – zen – sun & sea are central.

Action

  • A nearby summer trek on foot through the “chill” waters of El Rio Chillar is a very special experience. Unforgettable and refreshing!
  • Experience the nature in a very special way: canyoning, climbing, zipline, paddle surf and kayak are only a few possibilities.
  • Cycling Trips, with a local guide, if required. Cycle hire? Just ask us for details.
  • Horseriding is absolutely delightful in this beautiful region. Hours of peering between two hairy ears at horse speed – you can’t get more zen than that. Departure possible from a neighbouring village.
  • Seaside: diving or heading out to sea on a chauffeur-driven speedboat.
  • A starting point for skiing in the Sierra Nevada.

Smells and Taste

  • In Málaga, indulge yourself at Mercado Atarazanas, the fragrant and colourful indoor food market.
  • Or simply enjoy delicious sardines baked on olive wood charcoal at a typical chiringuito (beach bar) on the beach.
  • So, you don’t feel like cooking? Arrange your “chef in the house” to prepare you a high quality lunch or dinner at the villa. Exquisite dishes, regional produce, finger-licking good food guaranteed !
  • Wine tasting. An experienced local sommelier will bring his favourite Spanish wines to the villa or visit one of the best finest Bodega’s in the region.
  • This region offers foodies plenty to enjoy. The restaurant of Michelin Star chef José Carlos Garcia in Málaga has an excellent reputation.

Zen ( Relaxation )

  • Relaxation and healing massages. Specialist Concha can give you a treatment inside or outside (Heaven!) with views spanning across the sierras, depending on your choice. This comes highly recommended! And is also great for a girlie pamper afternoon.
  • Enjoy the hot water sources in Alhama de Granada
  • More zen: Yoga on the beach or a hammam session in Málaga.

Culture & City

  • Málaga of course. Great city and still so close. Ronda and Nerja are also not far away, for those who want to get rid of the complete tranquility and need to dive into a bustling city atmosphere.

  • Granada (with the imposing and unmissable Alhambra) is a +/- 1,5 hour drive. The impressive ruins of the Alhambra in Granada, located at the foot of the famous Sierra Nevada, the second highest mountain range in Europe. We are happy to provide you with the contacts of the local guide and the best restaurants to dream away in the evening with a view of the Alhambra.

  • Versatile Seville is +/- 2.5 hours from our villas.

  • And also discover Cordoba (beautiful in spring!) just 2 hours away.

  • Closer in the white mountain villages (Mijas, Frigiliana) you will find the more artisanal culture.

Nature

  • The sun rules here, and it feels great to go and meander in the unspoilt Andalusian countryside. Its fertile soil bears a special type of fruit: las olivas. Here and there you will find the Verdiales variety, which is also known as 'The Big Olive'. These are the best olives in Spain and their oil is used in the top restaurants of Barcelona and Madrid.
  • You will also come across typical white villages dotted among the olive orchards and set against the mountainside.
  • But most of all there are the mountains; the sierras. They form a world all by themselves. The overlord is the giant La Maroma – which you can climb even by moonlight in summer.
  • Be sure to also try El Saltillo, the little brother of the Caminito del Rey. This mountain walk is almost 9 km and starts at the top of the village of Canillas de Aceituno and makes the crossing to the other white village of Sedella via the new suspension bridge of 52 meters long (1 of the 3 longest suspension bridges in Spain).
  • The sea is also very close by. In less than 30 minutes, you can feel the sand between your toes.
  • You will find trendy boho-chic beach bars in various seaside resorts in the area. And if you drive a little further in the other direction, you can spend time on more worldly things in trendy Málaga.

  • Our insider tips with carefully chosen contacts for activities, gastronomy and relaxation are available for our guests. We know the right people to make it a pleasant and special experience.
